Restore your hair naturally with Microneedling and PRP at Ilara MD – Medical Aesthetics & Wellness. Stimulate growth, strengthen follicles, and achieve fuller, healthier hair with this advanced regenerative treatment.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a non-surgical treatment that uses a concentration of your own platelets—derived from your blood—to stimulate natural hair regrowth.
Platelets contain growth factors that help repair and regenerate tissues, including dormant or weakened hair follicles.
PRP aims to extend the growth phase (anagen) of the hair cycle and improve follicle function.
Blood Draw:
A small amount (about 10–20 ml) of your blood is taken from your arm.
Centrifugation:
The blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate the PRP (golden, platelet-rich layer) from red and white blood cells.
Scalp Preparation:
The blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate the PRP (golden, platelet-rich layer) from red and white blood cells.
Scalp Preparation:
The scalp is cleaned and can be numbed with a topical anesthetic.
Injection:
The PRP is injected into thinning areas of the scalp using a fine needle—typically across the frontal hairline, crown, or top of the head.
Duration: 30–60 minutes total
Pain: Mild discomfort, usually well-tolerated
Hair shaft diameter (thicker hairs)
Hair density
Growth rate
Hair retention (less fallout)
Note: Results vary. People with early or moderate thinning usually respond better than those with long-standing baldness.
PRP is not permanent—you’ll need ongoing treatments to maintain results.
Standard Protocol:
Initial phase: 1 session/month for 3–6 months
Maintenance: 1 session every 4–6 months thereafter
Ideal Candidates:
Men and women with androgenetic alopecia (male or female pattern hair loss)
Early to moderate hair thinning
Individuals with miniaturized follicles but not complete baldness
People who prefer a natural, non-surgical approach
Less Effective For:
Large areas of complete baldness
Scarring alopecia (like lichen planopilaris)
